Tuition and Fees

The rates shown are for the 2024-2025 academic year. 

  • Tuition: $6666/course
  • Enrollment Deposit (non-refundable): $250
  • Graduate Student Services Fee*: $484/quarter
  • Lifetime Transcript Fee: $78 (assessed during first quarter of enrollment)

*The Graduate Student Services Fee covers student services and campus resources, including student health and wellness, career services, recreational facilities, and campus programming. For additional information, please see the University of Chicago Bursar.

The cost of tuition is expected to increase 2-4% annually.

Financial Aid

The University of Chicago’s Student Loan Administration office can provide assistance to admitted students interested in applying for financial aid. Please visit the University of Chicago Financial Aid website for graduate students to learn more about the different types of financial aid that may be available. Note that Federal loans require students to be enrolled in a minimum of two courses per quarter.

Scholarships

A number of partial scholarships are available and will be awarded primarily based on merit. Consideration for these scholarship is part of the standard application process; no additional application is required.
